Meet the Chevalier Point Ponies
Destiny
Owner: Hester Brown (Issie's aunt) who lives at Blackthorn Farm
Description: A jet black stallion with no white markings except a white stripe down his face.
Destiny was found running wild with the Blackthorn Ponies on Blackthorn Farm, but his grace and beauty suggest pure bloodlines and Issie's aunt Hester suspects he might be the son of her famous Swedish Warmblood stallion, the great grey Avignon.
Likes: Blaze! Destiny has a huge crush on Issie's chestnut mare.
Dislikes: Being told what to do! Destiny is a stallion and leads his herd - he has a mind of his own and is wilful and wild.
Blaze
Owned by: Isadora Brown
Description: Chestnut Anglo-Arab mare, 14.2, with a white blaze, four white socks, flaxen mane and tail.
Blaze is Issie’s second pony. Issie’s first pony, Mystic was a faded dapple grey who she loved to bits. Mystic had a tragic accident and Issie said she would never ride another horse again - then she met Blaze. Blaze was rescued by the International League for the Protection of Horses and has a mysterious past.
Likes: Jumping, cross country and dressage. The perfect all-round pony!
Dislikes: Blaze was an ILPH rescue horse and she can be wary of strangers as she doesn’t want to be mistreated ever again!
Goldrush
Owner: Natasha Tucker (Natasha never does her own grooming and thinks horses are boring. She’d rather go shopping! Stella calls her “the Chevalier Point Pony Club’s own Paris Hilton”)
Description: A golden palomino, a great jumper and dressage pony who has been expertly schooled by professional trainer Ginty McLintock.
Likes: Poor Goldrush – she loves jumping but Natasha has a nasty temper, even when it’s her fault that Goldrush stops.
Dislikes: Bossy blonde girls with plaits! (ie Natasha!)
Coco
Owner: Stella Tarrant (redheaded Stella is cheeky, always in trouble and Issie’s best friend)
Description: Chocolate brown mare. Vices include taking naps in the middle of pony club rallies and nipping Stella when her girth is being tightened.
Coco is a bit lazy at times but is a whiz-bang pony when it comes to games like bending races.
Likes: Marshmallows as a special treat, but not peppermints
Dislikes: Having her mane pulled and riders with wobbly hands
Toby
Owner: Kate Knight (Kate is only 13 but very tall, blonde and Issie’s other best friend)
Description: 16.2hh bay thoroughbred. A former racehorse who has been reschooled,
Toby is a good showjumper – but he hates jumping white gates.
Likes: Being groomed – especially his face.
Dislikes: Garlic in his hard feed – it might get rid of flies but it tastes yuck!
